Wizewoman
A pure, sophisticated talent will galvanise admiration big enough to withstand time.
Imaani is music, soul, class and intelligence.
Consistent since she set foot on the
global stage, her early years revealed a depth that was unmistakable. Shamefully underrated,
she could have been bigger if she retailed sex.
She, however, chose to trade music that
will never and can never age. Her voice rich,
deep, raspy and filled with so much
authority, carrying its legacy.

Grounded, husky-toned and simply a solid singer all round. Imaani, growing up in a Jamaican and South Asian household demonstrates what
can happen when cultures amalgamate. Nothing is lost and everything is gained. Unable to tell where it starts and ends, the inquisitiveness makes one wonder what she eats.
Fufu? Roti? Curry? Chickpeas?
The profundity in her voice in her youth was the crystal ball that disclosed
who should be in her 50's. She is everything the orbuculum would have
divulged and more. A legend and an example for the next generation.
She is one of the artists who does not do it for fame but for the love
of music and to truly communicate. We hear J.Lo talking about commutating
with her audience. Right. Someone that attention-hungry and power-hungry cannot possible understand connecting with an audience on a spiritual and soulful level. Her connection translate to dollars. Imaani's
translates to a legacy that when buried and unearthed, will reveal integrity
and where music should always be.
What is next?
She keeps moving forward and onto the next project whether independently or with prominent players in the house music scene. Imaani does not stop.
She is now emulated and the example for Generation Z.
One can only smile and feel some
sense of pride for following the journey of an incredible artist.
Someday, a documentary of her life will be made and we will see again, how she, like many underground artists, influence,
without press and paparazzi, and remain timeless.
You've got the best of our love, Imaani.
